Campus Chronicles | The Shooting of Mike McKinney

In early November 2003 Mike McKinney was a student at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He was a sophomore studying communications at Ball State University. Described by friends and family as kind-hearted and outgoing, Mike was known for his enthusiasm and love for life. He had a bright future ahead of him, making his untimely death even more heartbreaking.

Tragedy struck when Mike tried to get home one night after spending time with friends in The Village, a popular hangout for Ball State Students. Mike McKinney was shot by a Ball State University police officer, Officer Robert Duplain.
